Oh my goodness β€” Halo Studios is officially making good on our long-time pleas and they've announced that *Halo: Campaign Evolved* will hit PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC on July 28th! But here's the thing that genuinely got me excited when I read Jessica Conditt over at Engadget this morning (June 7): this isn't just a lazy reskin job β€” it's an absolute full-blown 4K remake of the narrative heart of *Halo: Combat Evolved*, and they're pairing those gorgeous visual upgrades with weapons and mechanics ripped directly from subsequent Halo games, plus three brand-new bonus missions. Xbox showcased all of this during Sunday's massive Summer Game Fest showcase alongside developer Halo Studios, including a preview of Operation METEORITE that looks absolutely phenomenal β€” it'll include exclusive access for Premium Edition and Collector's Edition purchasers who get five early days starting July 23rd before the standard release on the 28th.

Now here's what really makes my heart sing about this: Operation METEORITE is a three-mission narrative arc set one year prior to the events of Combat Evolved, starring none other than Master Chief and Sgt. Johnson aboard a Covenant research vessel as they attempt grab something mysterious and get out β€” only for everything to go delightfully wonky in classic Halo fashion! Alongside these new locations, enemy variants that look absolutely killer up close with all those visual improvements, we're getting access to some of the series' most iconic weapons back once again. And Xbox players especially have it great: this is coming bundled right into Game Pass plus cloud play support so you can jump in from literally anywhere without thinking twice about hardware compatibility. If you've always loved *Combat Evolved* but wanted that modern polish and a little extra love stuffed inside the campaign, I genuinely think Halo Studios might just be delivering exactly what we've all been waiting for β€” this is definitely one to watch!
