Okay you guys have got to check what Poncle just dropped โ€” I was half expecting them to be focused entirely on Vampire Crawlers right now, but they've somehow found time for a MASSIVE vampire-themed announcement wave that honestly feels like the game's next chapter rather than some lazy cash grab! The big headline is their upcoming Switch 2 version (announced Sun 7th Jun 2026 by Liam Doolan at Nintendo Life) which isn't just your standard port โ€” they're promising better performance and, get this, mouse support for those of us who prefer clicking our way to survival, along with a free update. That's the 1.15 patch coming alongside everything else, bringing new stages, characters, weapons, plus all-new Darkanas (which are like secret boss challenges โ€” I absolutely live for those in this game).

The next expansion is called Legacy of the Bloodmoon and it arrives later this summer across PC, Xbox PlayStation Nintendo Switch AND mobile platforms at once. As Poncle described it, think of it as "the evil twin" to their very first DLC expansion Legacy of the Moonspell โ€” but bigger with 10 brand new characters (seriously ten more heroes we can throw into battle), over 16 fresh weapons and evolutions for building insane builds, a proper XL stage that's going to be epic in its own right, plus eight completely new music tracks. The cherry on top is they're permanently reducing the price of Legacy of the Moonspell while ALSO expanding it with extra content at no additional cost so both DLCs will deliver similarly substantial experiences (which is honestly rare โ€” most studios just raise prices when expanding).

What's genuinely blowing my mind though, and this might be the big move for Poncle long-term: Vampire Survivors itself is getting renamed to "Vampire Survivors - First Survivaton" which is celebrating all of this as a new chapter. The whole point behind that label โ€” short for literally survive a ton โ€” is their entire umbrella strategy going forward for internally-developed games built on the franchise's foundation in collaboration with selected content partners, where each project aims to introduce major gameplay changes or genre twists substantial enough they could stand alone as full games (not just expansions). In addition Poncle established Pony Japan, an actual dedicated Japanese subsidiary headed by one of their own: Sawaki Takeyasu. That team is going to serve the entire bridge between global operations and local players plus creators across that market which honestly signals serious long-term growth plans. Also worth noting they've got a separate Wet Update coming soon if you want even more in-game content after all this (so much for resting on your laurels)!
