Fellow Travellerβ€”the publisher behind beloved indie darlings like Titanium Court and the mind-bending 1000xResistβ€”just wrapped up its very first Story-Rich Showcase, and it was absolutely packed! I've always been a huge fan of what they do as publishers (they have such great taste in picking projects), so when they announced this whole event focused on narrative-driven games with over twenty titles on display, my inbox went wild. If you missed any part of the showcase, you can catch the full replay right now on their YouTube channel β€” seriously worth setting aside some time for it because there's more announcements than I thought could fit in one show!

The standouts are already looking incredible: Ambrosia Sky gets its second and final act as a free update dropping August 6th (it was originally planned to have three acts, but developer Soft Rains restructured back in March). Here's the kicker β€” when Act Two launches at no extra cost, the base game price will bump from $14.99 up to $24.99 since you're getting all two parts together. And then there's Citizen Sleeper and its stunning sequel Starward Vector hitting Switch 2 on June 25th with a neat free upgrade for original Switch owners who already bought them! Developer Gareth Damian Martin also teased that they'll be revealing their next game during Sunday's PC Gaming Show, so if you're into sci-fi narrative RPGs this is something to watch. Desktop Explorer looks like it might genuinely haunt your dreams β€” the trailer gave me actual chills and features clicking through a creepy Windows-like OS in full horror puzzle form launching July 17th, while Demonschool gets both its Switch 2 version (featuring mouse support and improved frame rate) AND new paid DLC with "puzzle battles" that lets you clear out enemies strategically using specific character combos all in one turn.

Meanwhile Powerhoof β€” the studio behind last year's retro-styled mystery thriller The Drifter β€” is diving into fantasy territory with The Telwynium, billed as a full-on "fantasy adventure epic." Book One of it has just hit Steam and Itch.io so you can jump right into their new world. SFB Games also drops The Mermaid Mask on July 16th β€” another locked-door detective mystery but this time fully voice-acted with gorgeous hand-drawn animations, which sounds like the perfect summer story to sink your teeth into. Fellow Traveller is clearly building momentum and I'm genuinely excited to see how their Story-Rich line expands over the next couple years!
