So something genuinely delightful just came out about one of our favorite narrative studios โ Dontnod is doing their sixth year running in a row now with an award-winning Pride Month giveaway! I've been thinking for weeks that while most game studios only do the bare minimum during June (a quick "Happy Pride" retweet or changing their Twitter banner to rainbow colors), Dontnod has actually built something real around community. This tradition started back when they first launched, and it keeps growing every year โ this time running from early June 2025 all the way through June 30th on PC platforms including Steam, Epic Games Store, GOG, and their own site (and potentially consoles too, since many of these titles support cross-purchases).
What I really love about Dontnod is that they don't just hand out any random game to celebrate Pride โ they pick critically acclaimed adventures from their catalog. You're looking at Life Is Strange games in there for sure โ those award-winning originals โ plus Tell Me Why (that incredible adventure following twins Tyler and Mary Conway across the Yukon), along with all the other titles like The Awesome Adventures of Captain Spirit, Vampyr, Remember Me, and Beyond Blue depending on what year it is. I've always been fascinated by how Life Is Strange as a franchise really embodies Pride Month spirit: coming out stories, queer representation done right, beautiful handcrafted art direction, music that hits you in the feels โ so when Dontnod hands these games out during June they're doing more than just generosity, they're celebrating their own identity. It's honestly refreshing to see an established studio keep this going year after year with real thought and effort rather than rushing it on a single day like some corporate holiday announcement.
