You won't believe this because it makes no sense β another American sent to GERMANY for Ebola care instead of being treated domestically when we have the facilities! This is the second one in the DRC outbreak (which by the way already has 1,926 cases and 702 deaths since May 15) and both were blocked from returning home by Trump administration policies. The first was Dr. Peter Stafford β he got infected while treating patients and his evacuation to Berlin was delayed because officials blocked him from being repatriated; now it's a man in his 60s working just as the warehouse manager at Samaritan's Purse who somehow caught it even though he wasn't involved in direct patient care! That raises massive questions about how exposure spreads beyond clinical settings. He's currently stable at Frankfurt University Hospital's special Isolation unit, and WHO Director Tedros is calling for more international aid as the outbreak continues to outpace responses despite CDC monitoring. The whole thing highlights us essentially opting out of global health cooperation while our own citizens are shipped off to Europe for care we could provide right here in U.S. facilities designed specifically for this!
