First off, Rhythm Heaven Groove just launched in Japan and sold nearly 400,000 physical copies in its first week — that's insane for a rhythm game launch and shows how much the JRPG scene still values these kinds of titles. But then Nintendo dropped some news about Mario Kart Tour ending this September with no offline version planned, which is honestly kind of stupid because you just lose an entire player base without giving them anything to replace it with. At least they added four more Game Boy and GBA games for the NSO catalogue recently which I'm digging, but then came the kicker about European production shutting down in 2027 due to those new EU battery laws requiring replaceable cells. That means Nintendo is quietly phasing out Switch sales in Europe well before everyone else has noticed a thing — talk some respect to their long-game strategy because this kind of move keeps them ahead of regulatory shifts by years and not by accident.
