YOU GUYS — GTA 6 pre-orders are officially live on PlayStation and Xbox, but before you drop a dime, read this because it could save you from locking yourself into a worse version than necessary! Sony and Microsoft have announced their respective console editions but there is still NO official PC release date — Rockstar has said absolutely nothing about one yet. The catch every GTA veteran knows is that every single previous title was ported to PC years after the original launch, often as separate releases with different pricing and special editions. So by preordering on console now you're essentially committing to an earlier but almost certainly inferior version compared to what will be a much more robust PC port later — better textures, mod support, higher framerates, and it won't be the only edition available. Analysts are guessing Fall 2024 for both console versions but those aren't official numbers either. If you don't have an exclusive reason to play on console first I would wait for the PC version instead of preordering now — a few months later you'll get the superior experience and skip whatever Day One problems plague the launch consoles.
