YO β Microsoft just dropped a ton of quality-of-life features for Insiders in their invite-only Alpha Skip-Ahead ring, and I'm obsessed! First: they're rolling out 15-character gamertags after capping them at 12 years ago because people kept asking. If your name is unique and uses Latin characters, it can hit 15; if the system would have to add disambiguating numbers (taken), or if you use non-Latin chars, it stays capped at 12 so suffixes don't clutter things up. And anyone can try for a spot: open Insider Hub on your console, go Activities, scroll down under Available to "Joining new rings," and take the survey β Xbox picks people based on feedback quality, quest participation, and even how much/what you play.
But it gets better because they added full game cards with achievement progress and captures for every installed 360 title (now detailed achievements show up on your profile too). Then there's cloud gaming during an update: if a Game Pass title is updating, just tap "play on the cloud" right from its card and keep playing while it downloads in the background. Finally, you can add both released and upcoming games to your wishlist directly from their game cards β no more searching through store pages! These aren't small tweaks; this feels like Xbox actually listening to what makes daily use less annoying, and I cannot get enough of it.
