YOU GUYS โ my Street Fighter addiction just got a new toy to drool over! Right before EVO in Las Vegas, 8BitDo unveiled their Arcade Controller Pro which is basically their killer leverless pad but better across Switch, Switch 2, and PC. They added a whole dedicated P5 input for your left pinky to rest on so you can fire off those fast special moves in games like Street Fighter 6 without thinking about it. The P4 button got its own repositioning tweak, and the entire layout is more compact which makes every press feel way more natural under your fingers during long sets. They've even included a built-in display that shows real-time input coverage so you can visually confirm what you hit instead of guessing, plus monitor battery life on the fly without opening an app. You get to set SOCD and remap inputs right from this screen which is such a time saver. There's also extra RGB around the main buttons lighting up your layout at night.
The wrist rest has this genius magnetic design with extra switches and key locks actually hidden inside both the controller and the wrist itself โ that keeps the surface clean but gives you all those tiny adjustments when needed. The input labels light up automatically depending on whether you're in Switch or PC mode so you never misread a button assignment midfight. And I LOVE this detail: they added a cable lock system inspired by Cosmox Gaming to stop wireless dropouts from ruining a clutch run while playing wired, which is something I needed more than I should admit! They also have limited EVO editions of their standard Arcade Controller and stick with special designs available at 8BitDo's booth in Vegas. No release date or price yet but the team's been hyping this thing up for months so it should be dropping soon enough to make it into my setup before next year's fighting season officially kicks off!
