You guys — Nintendo just dropped Version 22.5.0 for both the Switch and the Switch 2 on June 15th, and this is a great win after that major March update added Handheld Mode Boost and Game Chat features! For Switch 2 specifically, they've expanded accessibility options by adding Dutch and Russian to Text-to-Speech AND as languages for Change Speech/Text During GameChat in the system settings. They also rolled out general stability improvements across the board — a welcome fix after this is only about six months since the major March overhaul and two years into its lifecycle, so it feels like Nintendo's been steadily refining things behind the scenes and finally letting us see the work.

The original Switch update today brings some of my favorite recent tweaks: they completely redesigned the eShop layout, which now reflects your system theme color when you use Basic Dark — that polish is exactly what I want from Nintendo! Better security too, since a User-Verification PIN can now confirm Accessing Nintendo eShop and Using Saved Payment Methods. And if you're watching full-screen videos in News or the eShop, ZL/ZR now function as 10-second seek bars — finally usable scrubbers! Also don't miss the new Mario Kart World additions to Nintendo Music with free roam tracks from Super Mario Bros. 1, 2, and 3 — you just need a Switch Online sub to stream them in browser or the app.
