The third-gen box runs on an A15 Bionic chip and there's always a rumor about a refresh coming — something I keep tabs on for the forum. MLS is included in your monthly $12.99 plan with no blackouts since they bundled everything in 2026, while F1 gives you a full F1 TV Premium subscription including live timing, track maps, and even a Sky Sports audio option if you prefer their commentary over Apple's crew!
For MLB, your options are capped at two games plus the Big Inning studio show because they only broadcast two Friday night matchups simultaneously; but you can still swap between home/away team radio feeds. MLS fans get three or four game layouts with an optional MLS 360 whiparound that does live look-ins across multiple stadiums, and F1 is by far the most advanced setup — you can build a custom dashboard combining driver cameras (P1–P3), telemetry charts, and dedicated camera angles for each car. ESPN supports up to four games/shows via multiview and YouTube TV lets you mix sports with non-sports content in their custom build tool. Fubo offers two–four channels at once on Apple TV and select Roku models — plus they added LG TV support recently — while the dedicated F1 TV Pro app has its own powerful suite including driver trackers, telemetry charts, and more if you prefer a leaner experience without the extra sports bundle. Even picture-in-picture works across everything from games to your Fitness workouts on Apple TV 4K!
