You guys... THE KNICKS WON! After over FIFTY years (since 1973!) New York has an NBA title on their hands again, and it's one of the greatest underdog stories I've ever seen. The old post only said "94-90 against the Spurs in game five," but that doesn't tell the whole story β this was the deciding fifth game of a best-of-seven series and they were not supposed to win ANY of it! They took down San Antonio 94-90, and the energy around New York right now is absolutely insane.
Think about where this team started: they hovered near draft lottery territory just two seasons back β basically bottom-feeders β and somehow turned into champions in less than three years. You can't call that a fluke; you call it one of those legendary franchise turnarounds the league rarely produces. They didn't win on talent alone either because San Antonio had their own skilled roster, but New York outplayed them at every critical juncture to force the game and then close it in the final frame. It is going to be the kind of championship run that people talk about for decades β a genuine sports miracle delivered right in front of us!
