Yo team โ you seriously cannot miss what Toby Fox did for Tomb Raider and I can barely keep my cool over it because it's one of the wildest collaborations I've ever seen in gaming! The game is getting a complete remaster/reimagining with new visuals, but here's the thing that makes it special: Toby Fox himself โ yeah, the Undertale creator โ was brought on as an art consultant for this version. He wasn't hired to write story or direct; he designed new costumes and weapons for Lara Croft using his signature palette colors throughout, meaning there are these amazing hidden visual Easter eggs scattered across a 2013 title. But wait, it gets even better โ the game features a brand-new opening cinematic voiced by Mela Lee, who is also one of the voice actresses from Undertale! This means you get to hear familiar voices in Tomb Raider, which I honestly cannot describe as cool enough without yelling about it. The team wasn't expected together and this kind of cross-franchise connection is exactly what makes gaming special for long time fans.
The remaster officially drops on June 26th through Game Pass and the store with a complete performance overhaul optimized for Series X|S, PC, and even on Xbox Cloud Gaming, so everyone can play regardless of their setup. It carries over the full original campaign โ that's about 60+ hours of single-player content already packed in -- but refreshed with modern lighting and texturing plus the new Mela Lee-voiced intro. The Lara costumes he touched include a ranger outfit and upgraded weapons with subtle Fox design cues, which are cool because they stay true to the original game while adding these wild layers on top. I'm telling you now this is one of those games that deserves to be played from start to finish just to spot all the references. If you're an Undertale fan or a Tomb Raider veteran or both, mark your calendars for June 26th because this version genuinely has something extra going on under the surface.
