Nintendo just announced The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake at their June 2026 Direct, launching later this year on Switch 2. This isn't some cheap port; it’s a full-on next-gen remake following Echios of Wisdom (where Princess Zelda actually played the lead in 2024 — wow) and Tears of the Kingdom, both upgraded for Switch 2 since last year's console launch. There was also Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment back in November, so Nintendo is clearly aggressive with its new hardware lineup. The only thing we have on gameplay are "details will be announced later" promises — classic Nintendo withholding the good stuff until a reveal trailer drops (mark your calendars!).

But wait, there's more because this isn't just about the remake! It’s part of their massive franchise expansion with a live-action Zelda movie set to hit theaters on April 30th, 2027. They already unveiled cast members late last year — Bo Bragason as Link and Benjamin Evan Ainsworth as Zelda (who is this casting? they're going for the Twilight Princess/BotW aesthetic). The costumes look incredible in leaked photos, with Link wearing a tunic that feels like a direct nod to those titles. So we get a remake on Switch 2 AND a movie by mid-2027 — Nintendo isn't playing around this year!
