Have you folks played **Maximum Thunderness** yet?! 😂 I just finished reading this hilarious Rock Paper Shotgun piece where the author tried — really truly tried! — to go solo through what's supposed to be a co-op roguelike, and honestly it broke my brain in the best way possible because of course they ended up with FIV- E-SKATEBOARDING ALIENS flying around doing their thing. The whole game dials up that delightfully chaotic Saturday-morning cartoon energy like no other title I've seen (seriously — watch your back for these alien pals!).
What makes this so much more fun than your typical roguelike experience is how the visuals pair with gameplay to create this surreal little world where every single room feels hand-crafted and colorful, just waiting for you to jump in head-first. The replayability hits differently too when those skateboarding aliens chime back up on another run — it's like having a personal cheer squad cheering you through your failures (and there will be many!).
If anyone out there has already sunk hours into Maximum Thunderness or is planning to pick it up, I want all the opinions! Does four hands of control really feel better than just two? Are those aliens pure joy as advertised??
