Alix Wilton Regan joined an IGN Live panel where they debuted a "Meet Lara Croft" featurette showing her alongside Crystal Dynamics creators discussing the character’s legacy. Her take is incredible: she calls Lara not just an adventurer but a British cultural icon — a global figure that people genuinely love, and she's honestly stoked to be stepping in because she loves the character too. The way she described Lara as "so completely confident in herself, her abilities, her brain, her body, her being" is exactly what this remake needs to hit right.

Behind the scenes, there's even more for us to get excited about from the project reveal! This isn't some unofficial fan mod — it’s a full Unreal Engine 5 rebuild of the original 1996 game published by Amazon Games through Crystal Dynamics and already slated for February 12, 2027 on PC. The metadata even lists confirmed versions coming to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S too, which means we'll get a next-gen port alongside the remake.
